Every time Troy University graduate Phillip Grice returns to campus, he is thrilled to see the continued growth of his alma mater.
Wanting to be a part of that continued growth led Grice to want to give back to the University that helped prepare him for success the business world. He did so by making a planned gift to TROY and became a founding member of the University's TROY Shield Society.
Grice, a Certified Public Accountant with the Birmingham audit firm of Warren Averett, received a bachelor's degree in accounting in 1996 and earned his Master of Business Administration the following year.
"For me, it was all about supporting Troy University and helping the University continue to grow," Grice said. "I am very proud of the growth I see TROY experiencing, and I wanted to be a part of that. I feel that we, as alumni, need to support TROY by giving back financially and supporting the efforts of the University to provide opportunities for our youth," he said.
Grice is grateful for the education he received at TROY.
"I can definitely say that TROY prepares you for the real world," he said. "I enjoyed my time there and feel that I was well prepared to enter my career field."
In addition to his membership in the TROY Shield Society, Grice is a member of the Trojan Warriors Club and the TROY Professional Accounting Advisory Board. He also serves as vice president of the Greater Birmingham Alumni Chapter.
